Psalm 67
לַמְנַצֵּ֥ח בִּנְגִינֹ֗ת מִזְמ֥וֹר שִֽׁיר

To the chief Musician on Neginoth, A Psalm or Song.
1God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.
2That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
3Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
4O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
5Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.
6Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.
7God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

Psalms 67
This psalm relates to the church and is calculated for the public. Here is, I. A prayer for the prosperity of the church of Israel (Psa 67:1). II. A prayer for the conversion of the Gentiles and the bringing of them into the church (Psa 67:2-5). III. A prospect of happy and glorious times when God shall do this (Psa 67:6, Psa 67:7). Thus was the psalmist carried out by the spirit of prophecy to foretel the glorious estate of the Christian church, in which Jews and Gentiles should unite in one flock, the beginning of which blessed work ought to be the matter of our joy and praise, and the completing of it of our prayer and hope, in singing this psalm.
